Upcoming Produce Safety Training Workshops: Ag Safe and Western Growers will be providing a number of classes in various counties in California.

They will be holding one on April 10, 2018 at the Yolo County Farm Bureau. If you would like to sign up for this date please visit: or call (209) 526-4400. The fee for this event date is $20.

The Yolo County Farm Bureau is also hosting a seminar for February 23, 2018 and you may sign up for that event here. The fee for this event date is estimated at $280.

The Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) will require all food producers to meet new standards for food safety. This will include new requirements for on-farm operations, and producers will be required to comply by January 2018.

Attendees will receive:
• 8-hour, 8-module basic education on compliance with the FSMA Produce Safety Training Rule, as required by the Produce Safety Rule;
• Official information and compliance materials created by the Food and Drug Administration and the Produce Safety Alliance and approved for use in training producers by the Food and Drug Administration;
• These include slides, handouts, information on links to forms that will be needed by producers to comply, standard operating procedures for producers;
• Official Produce Safety Alliance certification of training, as required by the Produce Safety Rule;

Refreshments and lunch are included in the cost.
