YF & R : Committee Officers
The local Young Farmers and Ranchers Committee consists of a diverse group of young people from Yolo County. Their occupations
range from students to farmers. Keep reading to learn more about them.

Chair, Scott Rominger
Scott has been farming with his father in Arbuckle since earning his M.B.A. in Agriculture Business
from Cal Poly in 2007. His goal this year is to improve the community’s awareness of the issues farmers
encounter in their ongoing attempt to produce a safe and reliable food supply.

Vice Chair, Lee Smith
Lee was raised on a family farm in Tulare County. He attended Cal Poly, both as an Undergraduate and as a Grad
student. He received a Crop Science degree in 2003 and worked for Bolthouse Farms in Bakersfield from 2003 to
2005. He then returned to Grad School and earned an Ag Business MBA in 2006.
Lee has been employed at Adams Vegetable Oils in Arbuckle since 2006.

Secretary, Jennifer Reimers
Jennifer is the North American Plant Variety Protection Crop Assistant for Seminis Vegetable Seeds. Some
of her duties include acreage planning, contract labor management, planting, data collection, and harvest.
She keeps accurate records of all data collected in order to file patents on newly created vegetable
varieties. Jennifer has been a member of YF&R since 2004, participating in Placer, Butte, and Yolo
County programs. She recently moved to the area after earning her bachelors degree in Agricultural Business
from California State University, Chico.

Treasurer, Becky Yeung
Becky is a Sales Representative for Greenheart Farms where she sells processing tomato transplants to growers
in the San Joaquin Valley as well as vegetable transplants to growers in Oregon and New Mexico. She also does
the bookkeeping for her family’s row crop operation in Elkhorn.

Events Coordinator, Colin Muller
Colin is a Research Associate at Pioneer Hi-Bred International, serving in the Agronomy operations group. He is
the main lead for soil moisture probe technology and oversees planting and harvesting operations. He has been a
member of YF&R since 2009, after receiving his B.S. in Kinesiology at Arizona State University in May of 2009.
Colin’s goal is to become more involved with YF&R and give back to the community that has given him so much
opportunity. In the future, he hopes to bring more members to the group as well as provide more community
awareness of YF&R.

Historian, Anna Fricke
Anna is a Senior Loan Officer at Farm Credit West, where she works with farmers and ranchers to finance agriculture
in Yolo County. In addition, Anna oversees the underwriting of the Yolo County 4-H Spring Show and Yolo County FFA
Livestock Auctions.
Anna is a graduate of the University of California, Davis with a major in Agriculture Economics and a minor in
Animal Science. She has been involved in the Yolo County Young Farmers & Ranchers since 2000 serving as both the
committee Chair and Vice Chair. Currently, Anna is an advisory member for the Yolo County Farm Bureau Board of
Directors.
